The Account Manager role presents an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing firms in the industry and is a key player on the Commercial team. The Account Manager is the brains behind the operations on the client success team. They keep the engine running on a day-to-day basis and help ensure our clients experience the best possible experience with Virtus. This position requires someone that is detail oriented, organized, and can work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists Account Executives and Producer in all aspects of client service on assigned accounts, managing key processes that serve clients and the internal activities related to these processes. These activities include, but are not limited to COI’s, Auto ID’s, agency operating system documentation, post binding subjectivities, and more.
  • Works as part of the team to provide seamless client service and quality work.
  • Prepares certificate holder list, updating that information in agency operating system to prepare for renewal process.
  • Informs client(s) of all changes that may affect insurance premiums or coverage, utilizing agency operating system to manage the process and delivery of policy change endorsements.
  • Assists in generating materials for client presentations and meetings.
  • Gathers and compiles exposure information from the client, including compiling loss-run summaries.
  • Responds in a timely manner to the requests and needs of the client, sales producer and/or team.
  • Effectively manages the daily needs of clients, which may include additions, deletions, lender negotiations, contract reviews.
  • Works with external partner to perform policy validation and send checked policy(s) to client, including sending correction requests to carriers and setting activity(s) to follow up until completion.
  • Oversees invoicing and coordinate between client and accounting to fully process; follow-up on receivables for assigned clients, ensuring timely collections.
  • Ensures that account data supports the integrity of company accounting and tracking systems.
  • Assists Account Executive on executing the annual Stewardship Plan and staying on the appropriate timeline benchmarks established.
  • Acts with responsiveness, urgency, and professionalism in all client interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the team and leadership.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years + of previous related Property and Casualty insurance experience required.
  • Active Property & Casualty license required.
  • Insurance Designations or desire to complete designations a plus.
  • Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), Agency Management Systems (EPIC preferred), and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and project management skills required.
  • Position requires direct communication with clients; therefore, strong written and oral communication skills, with a commitment to impeccable customer service are required.
  • Ability to utilize all resources available to find answers for client inquiries and fully resolve any insurance related issues is required.
  • Applies a solid knowledge of major insurance coverages, (including general/product liability, commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, property, time element, umbrella, financial coverages, etc.), client-specific coverages and premium rating methods and audits.
  • Understands the structure and content of insurance contracts and is aware of most commercial insurance coverages.
  • Previous experience working in carrier online systems with the ability to online rate a plus.
